Huntly is a small kennel who pride ourselves in quality not quantity. For the past 30 years we have enjoyed loving, showing, hunting, and obedience with our Weimaraners, Border Collies, Hungarian Vizslas, Border Terriers and Rottweilers.
We have made up champions in all of our breeds but one. It has been a pleasure to live with all of these dogs, but our hearts remain true to the Weimaraner and Border Collie especially.

Our beginnings started when Morag bought her first Weimaraner back in 1982. Whistler was a great learning curve and showed us exactly what the breed was capable of.  Not to be detered Morag purchased her second dog from the Rujanta Kennel in England and it was this bitch that was to be the foundation of our Weimaraners.
Morag was also interested in Hungarian Vizslas and was later to acquire Hogan (Rusettmantle Marsh of Huntly) who sired the first two Champion Vizsla in Ireland, one of which was our own Sh.Ch.Chinook of Huntly.
Border Terriers were to join the kennel when we were looking for a small dog that would get on well with the larger ones.  Ch.Glenamairgie Moonlighter of Huntly joined us and later his half sister,Ch.Glenamairgie Bramble of Huntly. Harris & Tweed fitted in perfectly and both gained their titles with ease, Tweed being regularly placed in groups.

David came from an obedience background and successfully competed in top level obedience with his Collie "Cassy".  He also exhibited his families Rottweilers and Weimaraners.  For several years David handled Border Collies for other Kennels before  eventually acquiring our first Show Border Collie in 2000 and succesfully campaigning her to her title.  "Maggie" was to become the first Border to win a group in Ireland.  We had been bitten by the Collie bug and in 2007 "Shane" came to join the Huntly team.
Shane came from our very good friend Judith Gregory of Tonkory Border Collies and has become one of the all time top winning Border Collies in Ireland. He has set several records along the way.  One being the youngest dog ever, all breeds, to go BIS at a UK General Championship show at only 7.5 months old.

In our Weimaraner breeding programme, we have combined our lines with some of the top dogs in Britain, the USA and more recently Australia. We can appreciate that all types have something to offer.  Our Border Collies also have a cosmopolitan background which we hope to develop over the coming years.
